IVM’s Emergency Response Officer (company emergency response) training is the best starting point for new emergency responders. In the Emergency Response Officer Basic course, you will learn how to act quickly and effectively in an emergency to minimize its impact.
The course consists of two components: Fire, Communication & Evacuation (BCO) and Life-Saving First Aid (LEH). At IVM, you can obtain your Emergency Response Officer Basic certification in two days through classroom training or a combination of online and classroom learning. You complete the theory online and then apply that knowledge during the practical training day.

ERO Certification
- Learn to act quickly and effectively during an incident to minimize its impact.
- The trainer and the Oranje Kruis assess your competence. A passing evaluation earns you the ERO certificate, which is valid for one year.

Learn with e-learning whenever you want
Complete the online training
For ERO, you can study the theory through e-learning. The e-learning course takes approximately 5 hours to complete. Once you pass the online final test, you can attend the practical training day.
